Annie Lennox (musician, political activist and Oxfam global ambassador) brought together a coalition of charities that champion women’s rights – including Women’s Aid, The Fawcett Society and Women for Women International – to ensure that the centenary of International Women’s Day, on 8 March 2011, was a catalyst for celebration and positive change. The WeAreEQUALS campaign included EQUALS Live at the Royal Festival Hall (a unique concert featuring Annie Lennox, Kate Nash, Paloma Faith and V V Brown to celebrate the strength and unity of women across generations), a national poll and Big Equality Debate…and a ground-breaking campaign film by award-winning director Sam Taylor Wood, featuring 007 Daniel Craig, which went viral on You Tube.

I coordinated the media campaign – liaising with PR reps from the nine coalition organisations – and achieved global coverage across all platforms: The BBC, SKY News, ITV, CNN and Russia Today; The Independent on Sunday, The Observer, The Telegraph and The Sun; Marie Claire, Grazia, Time Out, Handbag.com…and many more.
